EU projects IDACS and NAPCORE

IDACS (ID and Data Collection for Sustainable Fuels in Europe)

The IDACS project is a Programme Support Action (PSA) of the centralised EU programme – the Connecting Europe Facility (CEE). The implementation of the project and the formation of a consortium were joined by 15 EU Member States: the Netherlands, lead partner, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Poland, Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, United Kingdom, Spain, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Hungary, Portugal, France, Greece. The Ministry of Infrastructure is a beneficiary of the project.
The purpose of the project is to provide comprehensive and reliable data accessible on a non-discriminatory basis on the charging/refuelling infrastructure for alternative fuels in traffic through the National Access Point – NAP web portal.
Project objectives:
  • The setting up of a common format for the introduction of ID codes for the stakeholders of the charging/refuelling infrastructure for AG in traffic;
  • The establishment of a national Registration Office (IDRO) and a link to the EU ID Code Repository (IDRR);
  • Registration of ID codes of managers of electric vehicle charging infrastructure and charging service providers: CPO ID codes and MSP ID codes;
  • Registration of the ID codes of electric vehicle charging points: EVSE ID codes;
  • Upgrading of the existing NAP portal with comprehensive and reliable static and dynamic data on the charging/refuelling infrastructure for alternative fuels traffic. Users will be provided with access for data exchange and re-use on a non-discriminatory basis.

NAPCORE project

The general objective of this action is to empower the National Access Points (NAPs) as the backbone for ITS digital infrastructure. It will facilitate national & EU wide operational coordination for the harmonisation and implementation of the European specifications.
It has become apparent that NAPs and national bodies in each country are faced with common challenges and are looking for common solutions through working together. New challenges such as data collection activities and negotiations with private data providers and/or global players would benefit from being addressed jointly. The action « NAPCORE » was built in this spirit of consultation and cooperation. It is supported by all the Member States of the European Union and some associated countries.
Its specific objectives are to create a coordinated European mechanism of National Access Points based on a coordinated governance and architecture, interoperability, standards and services. It is based on the position paper of the NAP&NB Harmonisation Group in order to strengthen the position and the role of NAP and to support steps towards the creation of European-wide solutions to facilitate the use of EU-wide data.
